The Ampol Little Origin initiative will see two New T South Wales schools live out their State of Origin dreams when they play on field at half time at Accor Stadium this Ampol State of Origin Series.
Local school Sacred Heart Primary Mount Druitt have been announced as lucky winners for Ampol Little Origin which will see 10 students don a Blues or Maroons jersey during Ampol State of Origin Game 3 when they take on fellow New South Wales School, Cessnock Public School.
In addition to their on-field opportunity, Sacred Heart Primary Mount Druitt will receive a $5,000 grant from Ampol going towards developing their Rugby League programs and educating students on the importance of health and wellbeing. Sacred Heart Primary Mount Druitt's Ampol Little Origin experience will also include an official NRL League Stars clinic hosted by Maroons and Broncos legend Sam Thaiday to help them prepare for their showdown.
"It's truly a great privilege for Ampol to be able to support grassroots rugby league and provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for our next generation of NRL stars. Our aim is to grow grassroots rugby league through creating memorable experiences such as Ampol Little Origin and help support schools through $50,000 in grants, which they can use to continue growing their programs and educating children on all aspects of the sport, including teamwork and mental health," said Ampol's Chief Brand Officer, Jenny O'Regan

Today our Year 6 students enjoyed a wonderful excursion around Sydney, filled with learning, reflection, and fun! Our day began at the Australian Museum, where students participated in the engaging Mini Beast Workshop and discovered fascinating facts about some of Australiaโs smallest creatures.๐ชณ๐ท๏ธ๐ฆ๐ฆ After a picnic lunch in Hyde Park, we explored several iconic city landmarks, including the War Memorial and the beautiful fountain. A highlight of the afternoon was stopping to sing along with a talented busker, bringing plenty of smiles and energy to the day.๐ค Students then visited St Maryโs Cathedral. A special shoutout to Fr Roberto for greeting us and answering lots of questions from our students ๐คฉ A highlight of the visit was gathering in the crypt to pray the Rosary together, providing a special moment of reflection and faith.๐ To finish our adventure, we headed to the Royal Botanic Gardens and captured a group photo with the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the background.๐ธ It was a fantastic day of learning, community, and memorable experiences. Today, four of our Year 5 FIAT students had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Vinnies Encounter Day, where they learnt about the incredible work of St Vincent de Paul and the many ways they support people in need within our community. A special highlight of the day was seeing the Vinnies Van and learning about the important role it plays in supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship. It was a valuable and inspiring experience that encouraged our students to live out our school values of compassion, service and kindness. ๐๐ #cspd #vinniesvan #sacredheartprimaryschool

Last night, our Year 3โ6 students came together for our Winter Sleepout, an opportunity to gain a small glimpse into the reality of homelessness and to reflect on the challenges faced by those in need within our community.๐ Our evening began with a simple dinner of noodles, reminding us that what may seem ordinary can be a luxury for many. Students then heard an insightful presentation about the Vinnies Van and the important work it does to support vulnerable members of our community. Throughout the night, students participated in a range of reflective and engaging activities, including walking the oval in quiet reflection, Visio Divina, creating cardboard houses, decorating lanterns, and taking part in "The Price is Right" challenge, where they experienced the difficulty of shopping for food with just $5.โจ The evening concluded with a beautiful prayer liturgy, bringing us together in faith, gratitude, and solidarity with those experiencing homelessness.๐ A heartfelt thank you to Veronica Brogden from the Vinnies Van ( Cathwest Mission Leader) Ben Oxley (Mission Team CSPD), Fr Marcus, Deacon Rod, and our incredible Sacred Heart staff for facilitating this meaningful and memorable experience for our students. #WinterSleepout #FaithInAction #SacredHeartCommunity #MakingADifference #VinniesVan #cspd #CathWest

Good afternoon parents, Firstly, thank you so much for your incredibly generous donations towards our snack packs for the homeless.๏ฟผ Thanks to your support, we have been able to make approximately 345 snack packs so far! What an amazing achievement. We still have a large supply of snacks and poppers remaining, and we would love to make even more snack packs. However, we have now run out of tuna and Cup-a-Soup packets, which are essential items to complete each pack. If you are able to, we would greatly appreciate any additional donations of tuna and Cup-a-Soup packets. Kindergarten had an awesome time on their very first excursion to Sydney Zoo! ๐ฏ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ It was a fun-filled day of learning and discovery as students participated in an engaging educational lesson about living things before exploring the many amazing animals throughout the zoo. Our students immersed themselves in every aspect of the day, asking questions, sharing their knowledge, and embracing new experiences. There were plenty of favourite animals, with the tigers, elephants and penguins proving to be the biggest hits! Students and staff are invited to wear their best green and gold outfit in exchange for a gold coin donation as we come together to cheer on Australia in their clash against Paraguay. Students will enjoy watching the game on the big screen in the Hall, along with popcorn, half-time entertainment and plenty of school spirit. ๐Today our school community came together to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart, and what a wonderful day it was! The day began with our Stage 3 students taking on the teachers in a highly anticipated schoolyard handball competition. The rivalry was fierce, but with the enthusiastic support of their cheerleaders ๐ฃ, the students claimed victory! We were delighted to welcome parents into our open classrooms, giving them the opportunity to see the incredible learning that takes place every day at our school. Our celebrations continued with a beautiful Mass, during which a number of students received Sacred Heart Awards. These special awards recognise children who consistently live out the Gospel values through their words, actions, and care for others. Following Mass, our talented Year 6 Band students treated us to a wonderful performance, showcasing their hard work and musical skills. The day concluded with a family picnic, providing a lovely opportunity for families to gather and enjoy time together. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us today, especially Fr Marcus, Deacon Rod, and all of our families.
